Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica

Go Back

Jamaica Just back from another trip to Jamaica, seems like I was just there a few weeks ago... anyway stayed at the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica for 2 nights, not long enough, great hotel and here's what I experienced.

It's about a 1hour bus transfer from the airport in Montego Bay and is located close to Runaway Bay.
The rooms are junior suites with Jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower, and yes there is a hairdryer and also a mini fridge stocked & replenished daily with soft drinks water & beer.

Plenty of restaurants to choose from, the main buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner, the Don Pablo Gourmet restaurant, MIkado-Japanese restaurant, La Dolce-Vita Italian & the Garden Grill, all of which require advance reservations.
The variety and quality of food was very good, with lots of attentive staff.
There's also a beach snack bar and Jerk Centre for quick casual snacks.

The beach directly in front of the hotel is small and the sand is of a granular quality, however the other beach to the west of the hotel that everyone seems to favor is a gorgeous cove with soft golden sand, ideal for those long beach walks.
The crystal clear waters allow you to walk, swim or snorkel out a fair distance before it gets deep. Lots of palapas and trees to protect you from this hot Jamaican sun.

Large pool area - winding throughout the width of the hotel, it has a few pool bars, jacuzzis, kid's areas and little bridges that allow you to cross at different points.

The resort also has a beachfront wedding gazebo, kid's club, tennis courts, dive shop, a Renova Spa and the Pueblo Principe - a shopping area and entertainment area.
ATM machine is also available as well as a gift shop and the air conditioned lobby bar serves tea, coffee and pastries in the afternoon.

Internet service is available at an additional charge in the business centre and you can also purchase WIFI access packages if you bring your own laptop, runs about $12US for a 24 hour period.

All kinds of excursions available, Dunn's River Falls, Catamaran Cruises, Tour to Ocho Rios, and something different "Come Ride the Blues" a bike tour that's 95% downhill, read about it here http://www.bmtoursja.com/home.html

Hope this might help you if you plan to vacation at this hotel.
