Dubrovnik is my final stop on this 7 day Mediterranean cruise that I started in Venice last week. It's been a great cruise so far and my only complaint is it's not long enough. It does give you a taste of different cultures and leaves you wanting more, so maybe another trip is needed sometime in the future, will see what my bosses have to say about that idea. Istanbul Turkey, once know as Constantinople and originally Byzantium is one of Europe's most populated cities, approximately 13.5 million people live and work here. A skyline that is filled with domes, minarets and history dating back to 657 B.C. I'm only here for a day, almost impossible to see everything that I want to see but will give it a try.





Arrival in Izmir around 8:00am, gorgeous weather. Seems English is understood and spoken relatively well as I leave the ship and pass through shops lining the cruise terminal.





Running a little behind in posting my blogs due to slow internet connections but am in Katakolon, Greece, a quiet little town.





Bari, Italy, an important port town on the Adriatic and a university city as well. Population of about 500,000. Currency used here is the Euro. My stay here is a short one, only about 6 hours.





Venice, Italy, beginning of another cruise. I'm going to visit Bari, Italy, Katakolon, Greece, Izmir & Istanbul Turkey, up to Dubrovnik Croatia and back to Venice. I'm trying to see as much as possible in the short time I have, and hope the pictures will give a sense of the greatness that is Europe.





Well here I am in Venice and ready to start my second cruise. Have been exploring Venice and will do a write up shortly along with some pictures of this fabulous city. I'll be leaving Saturday evening at 5:00 pm for Bari, Italy, then on to Katakolon Greece, Izmir and Istanbul, up to Dubrovnik and then back to Venice at the end of the week.
